【摘要】:ZeoliteNaAhasbeenusedasanactivecomponentinmolecularsievesemployedasdesiccantsfornaturalgas,processgasstreams,sealedinsulatedwindows,andasabuilder(watersoftener)inhouseholdlaundrydetergents.ThisX-rayprocedureisdesignedtoallowareportingoftherelativedegreeofcrystallizationofNaAinthemanufactureofNaA.Therelativecrystallinitynumberhasprovenusefulintechnology,research,andspecifications.DrasticchangesinintensityofindividualpeaksintheXRDpatternofNaAcanresultfromchangesindistributionofelectrondensitywithintheunitcelloftheNaAzeolite.Theelectrondensitydistributionisdependentupontheextentoffillingofporesinthezeolitewithguestmolecules,andonthenatureoftheguestmolecules.InthisXRDmethod,theguestmoleculeH2Ocompletelyfillsthepores.IntensitychangesmayalsoresultifsomeorallofthesodiumcationsinNaAareexchangedbyothercations.DrasticchangesinoverallintensitycanresultfromchangesinX-rayabsorptionattributedtonon-crystallinephases,ifpresent,inaNaAsample.Ifnon-zeolitecrystallinephasesarepresent,theirdiffractionpeaksmayoverlapwithsomeoftheNaAdiffractionpeaksselectedforthistestmethod.Ifthereisreasontosuspectthepresenceofsuchcomponents,thenNaApeaksfreeofinterferenceshouldbechosenforanalysis.1.1ThistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminingtherelativecrystallinityofzeolitesodiumA(zeoliteNaA)usingselectedpeaksfromtheX-raydiffractionpatternofthezeolite.1.2Thetermx201C;intensityofanX-raypowderdiffraction(XRD)peakx201D;referstothex201C;integralintensity,x201D;eithertheareaorcountsunderthepeakortheproductofthepeakheightandthepeakwidthathalfheight.1.3ThistestmethodprovidesanumberthatistheratioofintensityofportionsoftheXRDpatternofthesampletointensityofthecorrespondingportionofthepatternofareferencezeoliteNaA.Theintensityratio,expressedasapercentage,isthenlabeledrelativecrystallinityofNaA.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
